Match Preview ACL2 MD1 Group H | Muangthong United FC vs Selangor FC | #ACLTwo Journey Begins

Today, Selangor FC will start the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) 2024/25 Group H match against Muangthong United F.C. at Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand at 6pm (Malaysian time).

Selangor FC have been drawn in Group H with three clubs from three different countries, Muangthong United F.C. (Thailand), Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (Republic of Korea) and Dynamic Herb Cebu FC (Philippines) in the ACL2.

According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Nidzam Jamil, the previous win during recent league games may boost the team's motivation but today will be a different experience for the players.

"We, Selangor FC, are very honoured to be here because the club has not played in this high-level competition for quite some time. The morale of the players so far has been very good and we have also been able to make enough preparations to perform tonight. Apart from that, one of the important things for me is that almost all the players are available, they are all fit to play this match.

"True, our recent results in the league will probably increase the player's motivation but this next match will be different and at a higher level. We will be playing against Muangthong United, one of the biggest clubs in Thailand, it will definitely create a different experience,” Nidzam Jamil explained.

When asked about Muangthong United F.C. Nidzam Jamil clearly thinks they are a big team, "I'm sure most Malaysians do follow the Thai league closely. Personally I have been following the club for the past 10 years, personally Muangthong United is one of the biggest clubs in Thailand along with other clubs, they are also among the stronger teams in terms of results and achievements. For sure we will see a good match from both teams."

As for the player updates, Mukhairi Ajmal and Alexander Agyarkwa are still undergoing rehabilitation sessions for their injuries.

The management of Selangor FC wishes the team success for tonight's first match of ACL2. May the Red Giants prevail!
